.Elon Musk - today (Oct 6, 5:37 PM) my Tesla on FSD ran a red light at S 352nd St in Federal Way, WA. Clip attached. No one was hurt. Sharing so the team can take a look. It was quite scary. I know Tesla's answer: the engineers who wrote that code aren't criminals. The person behind the wheel is responsible. And that's right. But the DOJ doesn't apply that rule to me. I wrote open-source code. People I never met misused it in ways I didn't control. Now I'm facing decades in prison. Prosecutors compared me to "a getaway driver for a bank robbery." But I never drove anyone anywhere. I built open-source software that still runs today - because no one controls it. Not me, not anyone. Elon, I know how much is on your plate. If you ever have a moment, I'd be truly grateful if you took a look at my case. I believe it matters for everyone building software in America. Thank you.

"FinCEN guidance from 2019, which we heavily relied on, specifically states that software anonymizing providers are not subject to money transmitter licensing requirements. That gave us confidence that what we were building should not put us in a risky position." Watch full episode made by Crypto In America

🚨 The DOJ is trying to block every expert witness in my case — from software to sanctions. They don’t want the jury to hear the truth about how Tornado Cash actually works or why what I built was legal. ⚖️ I’m being prosecuted for the misuse of software by third parties — not for anything I did. 🛑 No one in the world can modify Tornado Cash to make it work differently. It’s immutable, autonomous, and beyond anyone’s control — including mine. 📜 Statements by senior FinCEN officials make it clear: non-custodial software is not subject to MSB regulations. That matters. 👨💻 This case isn’t just about me — it’s about the future of open-source, decentralized, privacy-preserving tech. 🙏 Help me fight back: #FreeRoman #PrivacyIsNotACrime #OpenSource #CryptoFreedom

Q: Eleanor Terrett "Do you believe the right to privacy outweighs concerns about national security?" A: Roman Storm 🇺🇸 🌪️ "I would say I’m not a regulator. I’m not a congressman to dictate what’s better or worse. I’m not a lobbyist. I’m a software engineer. I don’t make laws. I don’t get to decide or think how it should be. My personal beliefs don’t matter much at this point. I only believe that developers should be free to write code without consequences for misuse by third parties."
