Matthew Schaefer on Morning Show with Boomer & Gio this morning with Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti on living with the Martins: “It’s definitely a love-hate relationship with me and Boomer a little bit. He doesn’t come around as much because I think he’s scared of the Islanders around here.” 🤣🤣🤣 #Isles

Keith Yandle on Spittin' Chiclets today on the New York Islanders: “We talk about them not being able to score that much .,. I don’t think there are many teams that want to play them in the playoffs. They are a pain in the ass to play against. They’re hard to play against. They’re fast, they’re physical. I wouldn’t want to play them.”

Elliotte Friedman on Anders Lee via 32 Thoughts: The Podcast this morning: “The Anders Lee thing to me, reading between the lines, Darche is a BriseBois guy, right? If he learned anything at the feet of BriseBois, it's we have a line and we don't cross the line for anybody. Tampa didn't do it for Steven Stamkos, for example, and he left. And what it says to me is that the Islanders are going to have a line, and they're not going past the line.“ Full clip below. #Isles

#Isles prospect Cole Eiserman on the organization and his excitement for the future via Empty Netters: “I think even when I got picked, it was like, yeah, they haven't had a first-round pick in the last four or five drafts, so there's not really much prospects. That was good for me in that time.” “But then they were like a middle of the pack team, and now they have a lot more excitement. They had a great draft last year, Calum Ritchie is now there, and now you got Schafer, who's balling out. It's a lot of excitement and it's pretty cool to be in that conversation of exciting guys that they have, because they're very passionate fan base.” “I see people on BU's campus come up to me, be like, we're so fired up.”

A couple thoughts on this clip (more so the first minute-plus) that was brought to my attention: 1. If this is true — this would be a really tough look on the locker room more than Roy. 2. If it was one or two players, current or former, it’s incredibly soft. 3. The Islanders organization have had and still continue to have former Cup winners around the team a good amount of the time. 4. Why the hell as a current/former player would you not want to get the mindset of someone who’s a multiple Stanley Cup winner and Hall of Famer? That seems totally ridiculous. 5. Roy not bending on how he wants players to play his way or is hard on them I can absolutely see being accurate. #Isles
