This means the fragments were pressed into the fibers of the fabric - forced into the weave of the shirt by impact, pressure or friction. Think of a splinter of glass that slices into a shirt during an accident. The fragments found were about 1/8 inch by 1/16 inch. That’s about the size of: •A tiny wood splinter •A coarse grain of sand •A fragment of crushed red pepper •The leg of a small ant •A piece of cracked nail or shell Imagine trying to manually embed something that small into a shirt. Not tape it on. Not drop it into a pocket. Physically force it into the threads of a cotton shirt. You’d need tools, magnification, and a steady hand and still probably couldn’t do it convincingly without damaging the fabric or leaving evidence.
