उत्तराखंड की इस घटना को देखकर ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि प्रशासन और पुलिस का रवैया बेहद नरम रहा। पुलिस अधिकारियों द्वारा बातचीत में जमानत, समझौते और हरसंभव सहयोग का आश्वासन दिए जाने से यह सवाल उठता है कि क्या कानून का पालन सभी के लिए समान रूप से हो रहा है। अगर किसी भी समूह के सामने पुलिस हाथ जोड़कर खड़ी दिखाई दे और कानून लागू करने के बजाय समझौते की अपील करती नज़र आए, तो आम जनता के मन में निष्पक्षता को लेकर स्वाभाविक रूप से प्रश्न खड़े होते हैं। लोकतंत्र में कानून सर्वोपरि होना चाहिए और किसी भी संगठन या व्यक्ति के साथ कानून के अनुसार समान व्यवहार होना चाहिए। उत्राखंड की जनता को क्या मेसेज जाए गा इस घटना के बाद?
