After the last Budget 3rd Nov 2024. “Not putting up taxes is an absolute commitment.” “It’s now on us, we won’t need to come back for more.” “We don’t need to increase taxes further.”

A reduction in VAT is the one single mechanism that can save Hospitality, save businesses and save jobs.

UK Hospitality is taxed 11 times more for a pint of beer, than Germany. We need to reduce VAT, in line with other European countries. It would save many businesses and jobs. I’ll be asking for this at my events during the forthcoming party conferences.

Every city, town, village, community, high street, is now being affected by Hospitality closures. We’re witnessing closures like we’ve never seen before. A VAT REDUCTION WOULD STOP THIS. We need everyone behind this, operators and especially the public. SAVE HOSPITALITY

With the Business Rates increase, an average pub will have to sell another 60,000 pints a year. 97% of operators have frozen any future investment.

This morning The Chancellor said she was reducing costs for businesses. This isn’t right. Costs are at an all time high…and will get worse come April.

This afternoon, myself, event organisers and sector leaders are meeting to explore every avenue on this, in order to carry on what we’ve all been doing for a decade. Back of House Testing saves lives.

The workers are the engine force of the Night Time Economy. The bar staff, waiters, waitresses, chefs, kitchen porters, taxis, hotel workers, security, emergency services etc. You’ve made Manchester the Sunday Times UK’s Capital of Nightlife. Thank you.

The Hospitality sector is seeing more closures than ever before. The one single mechanism to reverse the trend, is to CUT VAT. Part of my interview on BBC Breakfast this morning:

When a pub or restaurant closes, it’s not just the loss of a business and jobs… It affects the whole supply chain and ecology around it. A REDUCTION in VAT would prevent this. My comments this morning on Sky News:
