🪶OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS JUST HAPPENED! 🪶 So I am in my house and hear this huge bang! At first I think that the wind has slammed one of my doors shut, then I realize my doors were not actually open. I mean honestly it sounded like a large rock fell on my roof. So I go outside to look around and as soon as I open my backdoor, I see three crows fly off my roof. I'm looking up at the roof to see if I can see any damage (like, was this a chunk of meteor or what?!?), then I look down and see this gorgeous Hawk sprawled out on my patio couch (excuse the state of the cover - my dogs are up and down on it constantly - I need to pressure wash it). I realize that the crows must have been chasing him and the Hawk has flown into my back window there, full tilt. He allows me to gently love on him for almost 10 minutes - he must have been stunned. Eventually I try to pic him up and he flies over to my chair by my fire pit and just sits there (pics below) and lets me pet him some more. At this point I have something in the oven beeping that I need to take out, and as soon as I open my back door, Kali (my Chocolate Lab) comes charging out towards the Hawk and the Hawk takes off and flies away, seemingly no worse for wear. For those of you who have followed me for a while, you will know Hawk is my Totem ( I have a Red-Tailed Hawk Feather tattooed on my arm and I have had numerous awesome and amazing Hawk encounters - gifts of Hawk Medicine that I have documented on here), but this was the most beautiful, profound one yet. What an absolute blessing this encounter was for me (not so great for him/her), but I'd like to think that I nursed this Hawk gently through the worst of it. Best of all I got to share this moment with someone really important to me. Wow. I'm still stunned myself. Thank you Hawk for coming to see me and for your Divine Medicine - I hope you received mine. 💜
