As the damage and various needs brought on by Hurricane Helene continue to unfold, Samaritan’s Purse is currently responding in five locations across the U.S. while coordinating with local authorities and assessing the damage in multiple locations. In Florida, our teams are based in Perry and the greater Tampa area, where homes have been severely flooded after Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 storm. We are also responding in Valdosta, Georgia to help suffering families as they begin their long road of recovery, Boone, North Carolina—home to the Samaritan’s Purse international headquarters—and a large swath of surrounding communities have been particularly hard-hit with toppled trees, flash flooding, road damage, and lack of power and water. We have established a response throughout western North Carolina and are also assisting area hospitals by providing oxygen support for those who have lost power and require the use of oxygen for medical needs. We’ve set up a two-tent unit in the parking lot of Watauga County Medical Center as well as one in Linville at the Cannon Memorial Hospital. 🇯🇲 Jamaica has more churches per square mile than anywhere in the world. Those same churches are now helping Samaritan’s Purse reach families in hard-hit rural areas with Hurricane Melissa relief. ⛪ For years, our partnerships through Operation Christmas Child have built trust and unity with thousands of churches across the globe—laying a foundation that now allows aid and the hope of Jesus Christ to reach those who need it most, whenever disaster strikes. Today, our Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) is on the ground and working hand-in-hand with local congregations across Jamaica to distribute life-saving supplies and share the love of Christ with hurting communities. 🙏 Please join us in praying for the local church in Jamaica as they serve their neighbors and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. ➡️ Learn more about our ongoing response at

✈️ For the past decade, the Samaritan’s Purse DC-8 cargo plane has been a life-saving resource for countless people around the world—transporting more than 9 million pounds of aid and supplies on 217 missions to communities in crisis, including Jamaica, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Colombia, Togo, Haiti, Alaska, Israel, and many others. Less than 24 hours after receiving final FAA approval in 2016 to fly, the DC-8 airlifted our Emergency Field Hospital to Ecuador following a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake, where our medical team treated more than 1,200 patients. Since then, we have worked to be faithful stewards of this incredible tool God entrusted to our ministry. Now, after many years of dedicated service, we are officially retiring the DC-8 and expanding our aviation fleet to carry forward the legacy that God began through this aircraft. Samaritan’s Purse is responding to the devastation caused by a deadly tornado outbreak in southeast Missouri and widespread wildfires in Oklahoma. On Friday night, a series of deadly tornadoes tore through Missouri, damaging or destroying between 300-500 homes in Poplar Bluff and additional homes in Wayne County. In total, this severe weather system resulted in at least 42 fatalities—12 of which were in Missouri. This same storm system caused wildfires across Oklahoma that destroyed upwards of 80,000 acres and destroyed nearly 100 homes and structures in Stillwater and surrounding areas. Our team is working closely with local churches and officials to coordinate relief efforts and soon, an army of volunteers will begin serving suffering families in both states. Please join us in praying for all those affected by these disasters and for our teams as they work to serve families in Jesus' Name. For more information and updates on our response, visit
