Keir Starmer rightly receives a standing ovation from the entire House as he bids farewell to Parliament. He will go down as a genuinely honourable public servant, and one of the most unfairly maligned leaders in modern British politics. He became a target of a new wave of politics driven by hostility, misinformation and propaganda, designed not to strengthen democracy, but to erode trust in it, whose goal is to concentrate power into the hands of those with the greatest wealth, resources and influence.

We do not want his death to create further division, hatred or tension.” Nigel Farage clearly has different plans as he exploits that family’s unimaginable loss and pain to further his own political ambitions, and create more of the division his party is thriving on: “I suggest the rest of us respond to this with pure, cold, rage.”
