THANKS TO EVERYONE WATCHING THE PIANO LESSON ON NETFLIX‼️I’m honored and grateful that this story has been part of my career for decades ➡️➡️➡️ Flashback to this time of year in 1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣7️⃣, August Wilson’s THE PIANO LESSON (1987) debuted at the Yale Repertory Theatre — I was the first to play Boy Willie and was the understudy when it went to Broadway.👊🏾👊🏾 In 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣2️⃣, I played Doaker Charles in the Broadway revival directed my BRILLIANT wife Lindsey Jackson ❤️. LaTanya was the first woman to direct an August Wilson play on Broadway 👏🏾👏🏾 NOW in 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣, I’m back as Doaker Charles in Director Malcolm Washington’s film adaptation on Netflix. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
