Ever Wonder Why Chickens Look Up When They Drink? If you’ve ever watched a chicken drink, you’ll notice a pattern: Peck… sip… head up… gulp! Here’s the logic and anatomy behind it: 1️⃣ No “suction” system Unlike humans, chickens can’t suck water up with negative pressure. Their mouth and tongue muscles aren’t built to pull liquids upward. 2️⃣ How they actually drink ✅The chicken scoops water into its beak using its tongue. ✅The tongue pushes the water toward the back of the mouth. ✅Then. here’s the key: they must raise their head so gravity lets the water slide down the esophagus into the crop (a storage pouch before the stomach). 3️⃣ The anatomy ✅Tongue: Short, pointed, and with tiny backwards-facing papillae (spikes) to help move food/water backward. ✅ Esophagus: A flexible tube running from the mouth to the crop. ✅Crop: A temporary holding area where water and food wait before digestion. 4️⃣ Why it’s important This “head tilt” is not just a quirky habit, it’s essential for swallowing. Without gravity’s help, they’d just be holding water in their beak with nowhere to go. Fun fact: This is why water drinkers for chickens need to be positioned at the right height, so they can scoop, tilt, and swallow comfortably.

From Landfill to Lifeline! ♻️🌵 Don’t toss those Coca-Cola bottles just yet. This farmer is turning waste into a self-watering oasis for the Dragon Fruit farm. It is a cheap, effective way to maintain consistent moisture while keeping plastic out of the environment. Why this works: ✅ Precision: Water goes directly to the roots where it is needed most. ✅ Conservation: Minimizes evaporation and water waste. ✅ Sustainability: Upcycles single-use plastic into a functional farm tool. #DripIrrigation #GardeningTips #DragonFruit

It starts from Day One. They don’t just hear music, they grow with it. Sound becomes part of their comfort zone, just like warmth and feed.
