ایچ پی وی ویکسین ایک زندگی بچانے والی ویکسین ہے جو 150 سے زائد ممالک میں استعمال ہو رہی ہے۔ خوشی ہے کہ پاکستان میں بھی لاکھوں بچیوں کو دی جا رہی ہے تاکہ وہ مستقبل میں سروائیکل کینسر سے محفوظ رہیں۔ والدین سے گزارش ہے کہ اپنی بچیوں کو یہ ویکسین ضرور لگوائیں۔

Since partnering with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance in 2016, Zipline has delivered nearly 400,000 vaccine doses in Rwanda and it now serves nearly 1,000 public health facilities across Rwanda in coordination with national health institutions. Great to witness this fast, cost-effective and safe way to deliver lifesaving doses at the mother and child centre in Rwanda’s Rwamagana District.

I was pleased to meet with Hon. Sabin Nsanzimana, Minister of Health of Rwanda, here in New York. Rwanda has one of the highest vaccine coverage rates among Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance countries (99% DTP1, 98% DPT3, and 97% measles vaccine coverage). We look forward to co-hosting the #GaviLeap rollout in Kigali in 2026. This will be a great opportunity for Rwanda to showcase its immunisation leadership and progress as a model for country-led health reform. Dr Sabin Nsanzimana

Yesterday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen pledged $290 million for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance for 2026-2027, with a commitment of more to come. We hope this motivates more countries to make bold pledges toward our $9 billion target so that we can vaccinate another 500 million children and save over 8 million lives by 2030. Humbled to meet community leaders, healthcare workers and caregivers at the Apo primary healthcare facility in Abuja, Nigeria. This facility is among 371 health facilities across Nigeria that were solarised through Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance funding with technical support from UNICEF, ensuring sustainable and reliable energy can keep essential health services accessible. I also recognised MannionDaniels and Vaccine Network for Disease Control for the critical role CSOs play in reaching underserved communities:

My Bill titled “Pakistan Ehsaas Targeted Subsidies (Riayat) Program” has been forwarded to the Senate Standing Committee on health for further deliberations. If this Bill passes and gets implemented, millions of families in Pakistan will be able to access a targeted subsidy on essential food items in these times of crippling 40% food inflation. We had demonstrated the benefits and transparency of this program when it ran its operations in more than half the country from Feb-June 2022 and later in Punjab. For the sake of millions of poor families, I pray I succeed in getting this through!

میری جانب سے بل بعنوان "پاکستان فیوچر کونسل" سینٹ میں پیش کیا گیا۔ دراصل مستقبل کے لیے جامع منصوبہ سازی کرنا ملک کیلیئے بہت اہم ہوتا ہے کیونکہ اس کے تحت ساری توجہ ترقی، استحکام اور اپنے شہریوں کی اجتماعی فلاح و بہبود پر مرکوز ہوتی ہے۔ تاہم، پاکستان میں مستقبل کی منصوبہ سازی منتشر ہی رہی اور سیاست کی نذر ہوتی رہی ہے۔ اسے ہمیشہ اثر و رسوخ کی سیاست اور پالیسیوں کی بھینٹ چڑھایا گیا ہے۔ بل میں بیان کردہ "پاکستان فیوچر کونسل" کا مقصد غیرجانبدار و نامور ماہرین کی آراء حاصل کرنا اور حکومت کو طویل المدتی پالیسی سازی کیلیئے سفارشات فراہم کرنا تھا، خاص طور پر اقتصاد یات اور متعلقہ شعبوں میں مفادات کے تصادم اور طویل المدتی اہداف کے حصول کی طرف پیش رفت کے جائزے کو یقینی بنانے کیلیئے۔ بصد افسوس کہ اس بل کو بھی سیاسی نظام کے اندر شفافیت اور احتساب کو کمزور کرنے کے روایتی رجحان اور سیاسی مفادات کی خاطر ناکام بنا دیا گیا۔
