It’s one of those afternoons in the garden when you can smell the approaching rain and race to get your outdoor jobs done before the inevitable Welsh deluge arrives. Of course there’s always a little steam engine to slow me down

Sorry I haven’t posted one of these for a while. I’m out in the garden giving the shed a fresh coat of sage green paint so managed to catch this going past a few minutes ago.

It’s that time again - the first day of trains past the house

The 15:45 going past the house today. It’s a bit of a damp day here but that makes for lots of steam 😊

Prince and Taliesin pulling the half term holiday makers up to Blaenau Ffestiniog this morning. It’s 30°C here today and I can’t help but feel for those firemen. Fingers crossed for no wildfires out there

‘Here it comes!’ This mornings 10:35 am gravity slate train. It’s hard to believe that it runs downhill for 10 miles all the way down to Porthmadog powered solely by gravity

There’s a real nip in the air here this morning. The type of air that makes your eyes water when you walk into the wind. Here’s the penultimate 11am steam engine of the season going past the house and I managed to get dressed and go outdoors to film this one

The youngest grandchild has now been introduced to the family tradition of ‘chasing the train’ that runs past our house.

Got stuck at the crossing on my way home this morning so had to get out of the car and film this for you.

I finally managed to ride on the fabulous cliff lift at Saltburn this week. It opened in 1884 and is now the oldest water balanced funicular still in operation in Great Britain #Yorkshire

I heard the crossing keeper closing the gates just now so thought I’d make an effort and walk up the lane a little way to catch the train. Unfortunately it was a down train which is never quite as spectacular as the up train. Never mind, maybe next time 🚂
