The hawker demolition drives at major West Bengal railway stations like Sealdah and Howrah have left daily commuters in a bind. Moreover, it is impossible for the Daily commuters, maximum poor and Lower middle class , to afford the existing the Restaurants, KFC, WoW Momo inside the station area.

Ayush Kumar Nath, an 8-year-old Class 3 student at Maharishi Vidyamandir School in Tollygunge, informed his class teacher on May 13th that he was feeling unwell at school. His class teacher instructed him to sit with his head bowed. After being made to sit with his head down under the scorching sun from morning until late afternoon, he began to feel even more unwell. Nevertheless, his class teacher ordered him to carry his own bag. While descending the stairs with the heavy bag, the ailing Ayush lost his balance and tumbled down. He sustained a severe head injury and was admitted to the hospital. Ayush suffered a brain hemorrhage and slipped into a coma; ten days later last Tuesday he passed away. Subsequently, the parents of the students erupted in protest. They alleged that, over the past ten days, the school authorities had not even bothered to make a single inquiry. They demanded the arrest of the Head of Management, Shaktipada Jana; the Principal, Susmita Chakraborty; and the class teacher in question, Pragya Sahu. They were indeed arrested, but for some 'unknown' reason, they were released within just one day. When the parents reiterated their demand for re-arrest today, the police baton-charged them. Is this the change people wanted where protesting to demand justice for the death of a child results in a baton charge? Where, even if the culprits are arrested, they are released within moments? #JusticeForAyush

Is it being a Trinamool Congress candidate from Rajganj in the Assembly Election? Has being a candidate from an opposition party now become a crime in a democracy? Regardless of one's political ideology, this incident demands deep concern and introspection. If such precedents continue to be set, will honest, accomplished, and self-made individuals find any incentive to enter politics in the future? CPIM leader Shatarup Ghosh about Mamata Banerjee I always respect Mamata Banerjee. From a lower middle class background without any political backup, what Mamata Banerjee had done to form her own party and fight against the ruling Government of Bengal at that time , CPIM on her own, that is truly remarkable. Other female leaders who are successful, had their own backup and already had existing party . No one can do it in the coming 200 years what Mamata Banerjee had done alone from the formation of her own party to ruling Bengal as Chief Minister for 15 long years .
