⚠️ The UK Government continues to play its part in this war on children by supplying arms transfers to the Government of Israel, including parts for F-35 fighter jets. These jets are being used right now by Israeli forces to bomb and kill children in #Gaza. The UK must end its complicity and suspend ALL arms transfers to Israel.

Last week, the Prime Minister said the world “will not tolerate any more excuses” on aid not being delivered to Gaza. Since then, Palestinian children in Gaza have continued to be bombed, shot, starved and besieged by Israeli forces. They are being systematically denied the very basic means for their survival. And now they face losing one of their few remaining lifelines. UNRWA is the backbone of an already crippled aid response, supplying food and water to children and families who have nowhere else to turn. Unilaterally criminalising UNRWA, its activities, and its staff is unconscionable. Keir Starmer, your words are meaningless without action. The UK must do everything in its power to ensure UNRWA can continue to deliver its lifesaving services, and to end this war on children. This includes securing an immediate, definitive ceasefire and suspending all arms to Israel.

Did you know we train midwives all over the world? 🌍 These midwives travel for hours to create lasting change for children the moment they're born. They go where they’re needed most – from war zones and refugee camps, to borders and remote communities:

Last night MPs voted against a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel. In the 30 minutes MPs spent voting, three more children are likely to have been killed in this conflict. We are running out of words to describe the scale of children's suffering.

Text Copyright © 2015 Michael Rosen, published by Smokestack Books ‘Don’t Mention the Children’ was written in 2014 by the children’s author, poet and activist Michael Rosen following a The Guardian report that the Israeli government had banned a radio advert naming children killed in Gaza. Gaza is now the deadliest place in the world to be a child. Over 20,000 children have been killed by Israeli forces. The actual number is undoubtedly higher. These children had names, and favourite subjects in school. They wanted to be teachers, doctors and astronauts when they grew up – the same as children in the UK and across the world. They were, and still are, someone's everything: their entire universe. We refuse to allow their suffering to become normalised. We must make their voices heard. With Save the Children UK and Choose Love, we called on actors, presenters, activists and influencers to use their voices and platforms to ensure these children can never be erased. The poem was written to expose the silencing of children’s suffering in the face of devastating violence. Since then, the situation for children has only grown worse. Its message remains painfully relevant today. Demand Prime Minister Keir Starmer takes urgent action for children in Gaza and the West Bank.
