My first home was in a high crime area in Milwaukee. My parents were young and desperately poor. My first crib was a dresser drawer. They did everything they could so their kids wouldn’t grow up the way they did. Now I live in a beautiful & safe Wisconsin neighborhood, where it’s normal to see a family of deer in the yard. Ducks in the pond. Families biking. Neighbors walking their dogs and waiving hello. Safe. Beautiful. Not an accident. The people who destroyed Milwaukee are trying to do the same thing to the rest of the state. They’re aligned with the democratic socialists and the teachers unions. They ignore falling proficiency rates, special needs kids who aren’t getting services, and the elimination of gifted programs. And they hate school choice—because when parents can choose, we won’t pick failing schools. There are a lot of Wisconsin parents who feel exactly the same way.
