I watched over 90% of the World Cup and loved the whole damn tournament. Then the final showed up and put me in a fucking coma. Spain wins 1-0, Argentina had 3 shots and ZERO on goal, Messi never got loose, and the biggest game on the planet felt like 120 minutes of waiting for something to happen. Great defense? Fine. Spain deserved it? Absolutely. But entertaining? Fuck no.

Don Nelson was one of the coolest motherfuckers I ever knew in sports. He’d come on my show, talk shit, talk music, talk life. Half the time we barely talked basketball. Then he’d go coach circles around everybody. Players fucking loved him. The league eventually copied him. We lost a good one.
