It makes no strategic sense whatsoever for TfL NOT to lobby the GOV.UK for powers to cap PHV numbers. In fact, those at TfLTPH don’t even have a coherent argument against it. It’s also contradicts the reasoning used by the City of London when they decided to restrict taxis.

Who remembers …. WORLD TAXI UNITE! The international movement that culminated in an on-foot demonstration at City Hall, and subsequent march! I was very proud of everyone that day; we really were truly energised and united in our fight. Unbelievably, it will be 10 years ago on the September 16th.
