One thing we Nigerians need to stop doing is assuming that because something is tolerated, ignored or handled casually in Nigeria, the same thing is accepted in the UK, US or Canada. Especially when it comes to sex and children. There are people who travel abroad and suddenly realize that the laws and social boundaries around children are extremely serious. “She looks mature.” “She agreed to meet me.” “We were just talking.” None of that changes the fact that a child is a child. And this is where some of the nonsense we normalize back home can become a serious problem abroad. We need to stop confusing what people get away with in Nigeria with what is actually legal or acceptable in Western countries. If you are moving abroad, learn the laws. Learn the culture. Learn the boundaries. And please, leave children alone. There is absolutely no excuse for an adult pursuing a child sexually. Now this idiot would do 25yrs in jail and be deported back home.

‼️LIFE IS GREATER THAN A BET ‼️ Gbenga was just like every other young man. He had dreams. He had friends. He had a family waiting for him to come home. But one careless moment ended it all. It started as a joke last week Saturday , a simple dare among friends: “Who can carry 4 bags of cement?” The prize? Their phones. Just phones. 👉🏾 1 bag of cement = 50kg 👉🏾 4 bags = 200kg That’s almost 3 times the weight of an average man. Gbenga, full of energy and ego, stepped forward. He lifted. His body couldn’t take it. In seconds, he collapsed. His spine and nerves gave up on him. They poured water on him. He tried to move, but he couldn’t. He tried to speak, but his words weren’t audible enough. He lay there even while the tried pulling him up. By Wednesday, Gbenga was gone. A mother lost her son. A family lost their future. Friends lost a brother. All for a bet. All for a moment of clout. Dear youths, this is not bravery. This is not entertainment. This is not masculinity. 👉🏾 This is suicide in disguise. Your family needs you alive. Your dreams need you alive. Don’t throw away your tomorrow for a moment of applause today. 🕊️ Rest in peace, Gbenga. May your painful story save another life.
