This is a distrubing sequence that flew under the radar on Sunday — clock running near end of Q3, less time on game clock than play clock, so taking it to the EOQ is fine. Texans clearly, though, wanna run a play. Fine. What’s NOT fine — (1) the play is VERY late getting called and (2) CJ and the offense seem to have zero clue the quarter is ending. Please tell me I’m off base here, I’d love to be wrong.

Please stop letting people who don’t know WTF they’re talking about near these arguments. Desmond Howard, trying to augment A&M’s win over LSU — “LSU was a different team when A&M beat them”. IT WAS TWO WEEKS AGO. ITWAS LITERALLY THE LAST GAME BOTH TEAMS PLAYED.

Another small tactical thing here that just bugs me — CJ hits Kirk on 4th-3, AWESOME! GREAT PLAY! They have two timeouts and under a minute to go, near midfield. Why is THIS offense burning a down on a spike? They need ALL THE PLAYS THEY CAN GET! This is what timeouts are for! (Probably too much to ask THIS offense to have an actual play to run there with the clock moving. Disaster waiting to happen.)
