President Trump asked me to go to Israel and meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו. We had a candid conversation on President Donald J. Trump Trump’s commitment to peace in the region and his resolve that Iran must never obtain or develop nuclear weapons. In the aftermath of the horrific terrorist attack in Washington, DC, we held a candle lighting and tree planting ceremony to honor the two Israeli diplomats whose lives were senselessly taken. It was a meaningful and sobering visit that reaffirmed the enduring US-Israel alliance and our shared commitment to peace.

Jocelyn Nungaray’s story is a tragic reminder of the consequences of open border policies. I have been blessed to meet with Jocelyn’s mother and grandmother to hear their favorite memories of her. DHS has reopened the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office to provide support to victims and their families of illegal alien crime.

The deportations of Tren De Aragua to the El Salvadorian Terrorist Confinement Center sent a message to the world that America is no longer a safe haven for violent criminals. I will be in El Salvador seeing firsthand the detention center where the worst-of-the-worst criminals are housed. I look forward to meeting with El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele to discuss how we can increase the number of deportation flights and removals of violent criminals from the US.
