"Gloria" is a rock song written by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, and originally recorded by Morrison's band Them in 1964. It was released as the B-side of "Baby, Please Don't Go". The song became a garage rock staple and a part of many rock bands' repertoires.

Led by Rod Argent 's fast piano playing and Colin Blunstone's melodic vocals, the band scored several hits in the late 1960s , including " She's Not There ," "Tell Her No," and "Time of the Season." Although they never achieved the prominence of other British Invasion groups, the Zombies were favored by music critics for their complex arrangements and vocal harmonies. Their 1968 album, Odessey and Oracle , is now considered one of the best of its era.
