My father walked out on my family when I was a kid. My mother raised us. I made my own way, joined the Marines, and built a life he had no part in. There are thousands of American boys doing the same thing right now, growing up determined to be better men than the fathers who left them. I spend a lot of time at Section 60 in Arlington, visiting friends I lost in Iraq. Now Trump wants to build an ugly monstrosity within view of that sacred site. This isn't about whether I like the guy. It's about January 6. It's about what he's done to the DOJ. It's about trying to put his name on the Kennedy Center after everything he's done to tear this country apart. None of it earns a monument.
