☦️One of the greatest relics of the Orthodox Christian world, the Holy Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos has arrived in Belgrade, Serbia. 🇷🇸The relic was welcomed by Александар Вучић - Александар Вучић and the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Porfirije. Today, during the Ascension Day procession through the streets of Belgrade, from the Church of the Ascension to the Saint Sava Temple, the Holy Belt will be carried before thousands of faithful. The relic will remain displayed at the Saint Sava Temple until May 29, during which hundreds of thousands of Orthodox believers are expected to come and venerate it.

The growing number of pilgrims, especially in recent months, shows the deep and living attachment of Orthodox Christians to their holy sites in Kosovo, which remain places of prayer, memory, and spiritual belonging. The celebrations across Kosovo on Lazarus Saturday and tomorrow, on Palm Sunday, mark the beginning of Holy Week, the final days of preparation before the feast of Pascha, the Resurrection of Christ.

For days, thousands of believers have waited in long lines, some for more than 8 hours, to venerate one of the greatest relics of the Orthodox Christian world. The Serbian Orthodox Church announces that the church will remain open as long as there are believers wishing to pray before the relic. According to tradition, the Belt was woven by the Virgin Mary herself from camel hair and later entrusted to Apostle Thomas. Today, it is preserved at the Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos and is associated with hundreds of testimonies of healing and blessings.
