Sitting 11 stories above the Las Vegas Strip, this rooftop pool has an amazing view and is worth checking out. Pool admission is free for hotel guests and locals with NV ID. Reservations are required for the bungalows, cabanas and daybeds.

Aristocrat Gaming headquarters is right down the street from my house. At night, you can see slot machines lit up in one of the buildings on the third floor. This is where some of your favorite slots like Buffalo, Dragon Link and Lightning Link are created, developed and tested. Always interesting to drive by at night and see them all lit up.

Resorts World Poker Room dealt their last hand of poker yesterday. They are now officially closed. This is the second Las Vegas Strip poker room to close in 2026, leaving eight left on the strip and four off strip. Resorts World Poker Room hosted the Pokerstars NAPT which saw declining attendance. While the room was nice, it was often empty. The poker room opened with the property in June 2021 and ran for just under 5 years.

What happens when an autonomous robotaxi gets into an accident? So far, nothing. Yesterday, I rode in a Zoox robotaxi and got hit by an RTC bus in front of New York New York. The Zoox was trying to turn right into New York New York on Tropicana Avenue just after crossing Las Vegas Boulevard and the bus was trying to get over to make its stop. What I saw, was the RTC bus merging into the front left of the Zoox robotaxi and then a crunching sound followed by a grinding sound. Pretty sure it was the RTC bus at fault. Impact detected. The Zoox robotaxi stayed in place while a warning popped up on the user display. Zoox support came over the in-car speaker and asked if I was okay and then eventually had me exit the vehicle at the New York New York rideshare area. Then, it just took off. The RTC bus? It also took off. The driver never got out to check to see what happened. Loaded up some passengers and went about the day. Nobody stayed around to file a police report, so I did. The Nevada State Troopers are scratching their heads at what to do here and so am I. Now I have a lot of questions that won’t get answered probably. I am okay and not injured thankfully, just shaken up a bit. As far as riding Zoox again, I feel it is safe to ride and highly recommend trying it out if you haven’t. On a side note: The Zoox took the hit pretty well and I couldn’t see damage when I checked it out. The bus had a nice scrape on its right wheel fender. I will keep you all updated on this.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any new drone footage to share of the new baseball stadium being built on the Tropicana site. FAA has denied all of my recent airspace authorization requests. As the stadium gets bigger and more structures go vertical on the property, it’s going to be hard to get approved to fly that area. So, here is some footage of what it looks like from the mezzanine balcony at New York New York. In the meantime, I need to work on my safety statement to FAA so I can continue to fly this site.

The former Mirage-TI tram station and tram sits hidden behind this wall with a locked door at Treasure Island. Once the new Hard Rock Hotel opens up in 2027, we should see it make a comeback. I will try to get some aerial footage of the tracks soon. It will be interesting to see if the tram gets a makeover before they open it back up.

A quick fly by of the south side of Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas. There is still no visible construction happening where the main pool complex will be located. More blue glass covers the former Mirage tower while work continues on the guitar hotel and surrounding resort expansion. There is still plenty of work ahead, but progress remains steady across the property. I can't wait to see what they do with the main pool complex.

One year ago this week, this is what the Tropicana Las Vegas site was looking like. There is a lot happening with construction right now and it's really starting to look like a baseball stadium. Once it's built, you will see how they will be able to squeeze the resort, retail spaces and parking in. I will have some updated drone footage soon.

Ole Red is absolutely packed today. There was no special event and the line was all the way out to the escalators. Plus, they had the addition of The Backyard pop up. Bottled Blonde had no line to get in.

I got to ride the Zoox Robotaxi today. It is pretty amazing and I can see these being very popular in the future. You can ride it too over at Resorts World Las Vegas where you catch the rideshares on the way to self parking. There are two routes and I got to do both. One route goes around the Resorts World property and the other heads down near Luxor and Excalibur and back. The rides are complimentary for now.

Planet Hollywood Hip Room walkthrough. Room rate was $9 dollars plus the $50 dollar resort fee. Not a bad deal for a decent room. Tried using the kiosks to check in only to have to get in line with everyone else. They were nice to waive my early check in fee. And no, I didn’t do the $20 dollar sandwich trick. The last time I stayed at Planet Hollywood, it was Aladdin. I would definitely stay here again.

It looks like some foundation work is being done in the center of the property. At the northwest corner of the property, near the pedestrian bridge escalators, the underground garage/storage has been opened up to sunlight. I will post a couple of photos as well.
