The core of the Arctic air mass is firmly entrenched, and the cold dome isn’t budging. Meanwhile, a strong Atlantic zonal flow keeps pumping milder, moisture-rich air into southern & western Europe. The Mediterranean, Balkans, and parts of Iberia are running warmer than normal, but at a cost of a High Risk of flooding in Iberia as repeated Atlantic systems bring persistent rain over already saturated ground.
