On April 28, 1253, Nichiren established the Buddhist practice of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, enabling all people to manifest the Buddha nature and empowering them to positively transform suffering and cultivate joyful and fulfilled lives. Nichiren’s teaching is based on the Lotus Sutra, which asserts that all individuals inherently possess the Buddha nature.
