One of my favorite news anchors Palki Sharma sums up perplexing actions of Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed in this piece on Vantage detailing his record of war and turmoil since ascension to power a mere 5 years ago. It has been 3 years since the brutal and targeted massacre of Amhara's in the town of Mai Kadra in Welkait, Gondar. On Nov 9th and 10th of 2020, Tigrayan armed militia and a kill squad called the Samri youth group attacked Kebele 1, a settlement quarter housing primarily Amhara residents of Mai Kadra. 3 years later there has been no justice and accountability for these victims and their surviving families. 3 years later the people that ordered the massacre have signed a "peace deal" and resumed office. 3 years later not only have the people who waged the ethnic cleansing of Amharas from this region in northern Gondar not faced justice, but they have made the counter claim that the victims were Tigrayan and the villains were Amhara forces. 3 years later the documented names of the actual victims still remains as evidence of #AmharaGenocide (Look Below) 3 years later a full fledged war on the Amhara people of Ethiopia has been waged by the Federal government and the people are fighting a war for survival from further elimination 3 years later, the truth remains ignored by mainstream media, the international community and human rights agencies. But the survivors have told their stories. We have documented their accounts, identified the victims (thanks to the University of Gondar) and we continue to advocate for 1. I have no words to express the pain and horror I felt after watching this clip. The level of evil and cruelty you have to possess to say the kind of things he does about a deceased 7 year old, rape victim is beyond my comprehension. I struggled to even share this because I don’t want to ruin other peoples day with this. But I feel compelled to make a couple of points. 1) If you are a follower or fan of this individual and you continue to be so after hearing this, you need to be ashamed. I have long since argued that this man along with others popular characters in social media are psyop agents whose job it is to divide and trigger communities against each other. If this isn’t proof of that then I don’t know what to say anymore. 2) We need to pray for the people and for ourselves. Everyone needs to pray for all this evil to get as far away as possible from our lives, our everyday events and surroundings. Hate, violence, venomous behavior, toxicity in general can have its toll and if left unchecked, this is the kind of thing that creates and perpetuates a culture of wickedness. As a spiritual person this is what stands out to me above all the politics and discourse. Please protect yourself and keep these evil people far from your surroundings. I heard people are rallying to get him shut down one some platforms. You can search for it if interested. I would like to see more severe consequences but I’ll leave that alone. Absolutely insane.

News Central Africa Newscentral_africa covered the ongoing propaganda hit piece by Human Rights Watch about Welkait which is another attempt to derail from truth in an attempt to instigate more violence and conflict and vilify Amhara and Eritrean forces through false accusations. Thankfully we were able to refute this. Thanks @hailetaddele for making this happen. jemal countess wasn’t able to join but was mentioned as his contributions to bringing the truth to the forefront cannot be denied.

In a recent parliamentary address PM Abiy Ahmed says “Christianity was in Ethiopia prior to spreading to any nation since the 1st CE, but it failed to enrich the impoverished and wasn’t used as a tool to progress towards prosperity like it should have been. Likewise Islam was introduced first to Ethiopia, since the first Hijrah as you all know, but it too was unable to eliminate poverty and advance this country by creating a patient and forward society” So what’s the message being conveyed here by the head of the sitting Prosperity Party in the state? * There is no value or pride in Ethiopias religious history * Religion has been an impediment to the nations advancement * Religion should be a tool to gain prosperity So it should be no mystery that the Prosperity Party does not regard religion or the faithful as valuable components of the nation he’s leading. And appealing to the conscious or morals of the drivers in this administration about the persecution of Orthodox Christian or the desecration of mosques, the attacks on ancient monasteries, disruption and interference in the church order/synod, arresting believers for their choice of wardrobe, allowing the usage of gas canisters to a crowd during worship at St George’s Church, raiding, shooting at and burning down churches and clergy, destroying mosques and religious sites, and condemning religious institutions for noise pollution and loud speakers calling people to prayer etc etc., is of no relevance. Abiys government is trying to rewrite Ethiopias history, erase the foundation of the country and replace it with symbols of $$$$$$$$$$$$ ⚱️⚱️⚱️⚱️⚱️💰💰💰💰 At the center of the conflict of ideologies and ethnic hegemony is the battle for the conscious of the nation and whether or not there is a place for some Ethiopians in the New Ethiopia that Abiy is on a mission to create.
