Jai Santoshi maa a low budget film Was released along with Sholay on Aug 15 , 1975, and became a massive box office phenomenon and turned Anita guha into a living icon. Anita Guha, who played the Goddess, was so revered that people flocked to her home and touched her feet on the streets to seek blessings. Made on a tiny budget of roughly ₹3 to ₹5 lakhs, it grossed over ₹5 crores, making it one of the highest-returning investments in Indian cinema history. People traveled from remote villages on bullock carts to watch it, turning theaters into temple-like spaces where shoes were removed before entering and coins were thrown at the screen. Before the film, Santoshi Maa was a relatively obscure regional deity in parts of North India; the movie cemented her place in the pan-Indian Hindu pantheon. Songs were composed by C. Gems of Lata Mangeshkar Rajnigandha 1974 When it comes to Love songs no one can beat Lata Mangeshkar. Salil Chowdhury famously admitted that whenever he knew Lata Mangeshkar was going to sing his song, he purposefully made the composition as complex and intricate as possible. He viewed it as a friendly creative game, and she executed it flawlessly. Yogesh originally wrote a completely different second verse (antara). However, while Salil Chowdhury and Basu Chatterjee were reviewing the footage, they realized the song was longer than the pre-shot scene. To fix this quickly without reshooting, Yogesh discarded his original lines and completely rewrote the verse to precisely match the visual length of the scene. The original, unused lines of the second verse were: "Apna unka kya doon parichay / Pichhle janmon ke naate hain / Har baar badal kar yeh kaaya / Hum dono milte aaye hain / Dharti ke is aangan mein". Gems of Lata Mangeshkar Mrigtrishna (1975) had the word FLOP writ large on it. The movie was as boring as it could be. It had actors like Rakesh Pandey, Yogeeta Bali, etc. And then the story of the movie itself was dull. The fact that the movie makers of this movie lacked finances meant that they did not hire a big name music director. They hired a music director called Shambhu Sen, and he also doubled as the lyricist of the movie. But the music of this movie was unexpectedly nice, but then the failure of the movie came in the way of its songs. After her husband, V. Ramaprasad, passed away in 1997, she chose to strictly wear plain white sarees for the remainder of her life. This iconic Telugu song "Govullu Tellana" from the classic film Saptapadi (1981) features brilliant lyricism and vocal performances. .S. My most favourite song of Kishore Kumar. It was for the first time I was exposed to a Kishore Kumar song and from then on it was only and only Kishore Kumar for me. The God of singing. His singing goes straight to the soul. Door ka Raahi 1971 Kishore besides acting also directed the movie and composed music for the movie. This track serves as a massive milestone for Sulakshana Pandit. Before becoming a famous actress-singer, she used to sing in Kishore Kumar's live stage shows. He gave her a major break by choosing her to sing this duet alongside him. Kishore playbacks for his elder brother Dadamoni. The icing on the cake is my one and only favourite Tanuja.
