Well, today we had to rescue one of our own patrol vehicles after it decided the snow looked like a great parking spot. If a fully equipped sheriff’s vehicle can get stuck, your car can too. SCSO detectives are investigating a shooting that took place at about 10:14 pm outside a residence on Fern Glade Cove in Cordova. When deputies arrived at the intersection of Forest Hill-Irene and Walnut Grove, they stopped a vehicle, finding an adult male gunshot victim. They provided life-saving measures until Shelby County Fire arrived. Shelby County Fire personnel later pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. Upon arrival at Fern Glade Cove, deputies found multiple shell casings and learned that four adult males arrived by personal vehicles to area hospitals with gunshot wounds. All four victims are listed in non-critical condition. This shooting is an active homicide investigation by SCSO detectives. Anyone with information about this shooting is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 528-CASH.

At approximately 3:12 am, patrol deputies found an adult male suspect suffering from a gunshot wound outside the Exxon. He was pronounced deceased on the scene by Shelby County Fire paramedics. This is an ongoing investigation.
