The Australian government and Parliament make special laws and policies about Indigenous communities, because of their position and history as the first peoples of this country. Indigenous communities deserve a fairer say when government makes laws and policies about them, so better policies can be made and better outcomes can be achieved. Not a veto, just an advisory Voice. Where’s the detail? Read cl 3 of the proposed constitutional change. It says Parliament is in charge of the detail, so the detail can change over time. This referendum is not about detail. It’s about the principle. 3) the Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws with respect to matters relating to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, including its composition, functions, powers and procedures. #voteyes #voicetoparliament #voteyesaustralia
