This footage is from this summer when the migrants finally left and the hotel had to be gutted. The state is not turning over records to show the expense to taxpayers, but similar repairs to a Taunton migrant hotel cost taxpayers $30,000. Today, I was in Boston and visited Mass Ave & Tremont St. This is the intersection where a Boston Police cruiser was torched on Sunday. The two guys who were charged with this crime appeared in court today. Prosecutors wanted bail set at $15,000 and $10,000. The judge set bail at $1,000 and $500. This is completely unacceptable. Events like this are becoming more common in Boston because there are no consequences. When I’m governor, we will support the police, hold criminals accountable, clean up the streets and get this state back on track. #magov #mapoli

I’ve got some bad news- the auto excise tax increase bill that Maura Healey proposed is making its way through the legislature. This is a bill that would allow cities and towns to triple the auto excise tax. That’s right- it would be a 300% increase. You would potentially be paying 7.5% on your auto excise tax as opposed to the current rate of 2.5%. That would mean the average working family in Massachusetts would be paying thousands more in excise tax when they buy a new car. Massachusetts families are already paying too much. The last thing we need is a higher excise tax. When I’m governor, we’ll cut taxes and cut utility bills to make the state more affordable for working families. #magov #mapoli
