Today Ireland becomes the first country in Europe to bring forward legislation to ban trade with the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Ireland is speaking up and speaking out against the genocidal activity in Gaza. Every country must pull every lever at its disposal.

I’m here in New York City where I’ve seen so much that is great about Irish-America. Conor McGregor is not in the US representing Ireland, he doesn’t speak for Ireland, or its people.

Today Ireland recognises the state of Palestine. We believe that recognition will contribute to peace and reconciliation in the Middle East.

Today we have secured safe evacuation for 52 Palestinians from Gaza to Ireland, beginning new studies at Irish universities. Their arrival comes as Gaza faces catastrophic famine and rising civilian casualties.

Today I’m delighted to announce funding to ensure students in Northern Ireland can access Erasmus+ This was a commitment made by the Irish Government to the people of Northern Ireland after Brexit and today's announcement of €2 million will ensure students can benefit from Sept.

We cannot stand by while children are starving and dying. The ongoing Israeli blockade is having a devastating impact on the people of Gaza. The world must do more.

An update on Gaza and my plans to bring forward legislation on the occupied territories, the need for aid, including Irish funded aid to immediately enter Gaza and the need for the European Union to suspend the association agreement between the EU and Israel.

We are the only government in the 🇪🇺 Union that has published legislation banning trade with the Occupied 🇵🇸 Territories. I am urging Opposition Leaders to contact their counterparts in the 🇪🇺 Union, calling on them to publish their own Occupied Palestinian Territories Bill.

Today, a clear majority of EU Member States agreed on the need to send a strong signal to Israel to reverse course, to halt its military operations and to lift the blockade on lifesaving aid. Ireland has been leading at an EU level to reach this point. Now it’s time to act.

This week, we set out our plan to transform Ireland. It provides the certainty needed to deliver infrastructure in this country over the next decade. Now it’s time to get on with the job.

I have listened to small businesses across Ireland. They have had a lot come at them recently. Now is the the time to inject a bit of common sense into supporting them; the small cafes, the shop owners, the restaurants, the shops we see on the main streets &amp; off the main streets.

My comments today on the importance of Palestinian leaders being able to attend the UN. Shocking that this even needs to be said. Today the 27 EU Member States united in calling for this to be resolved

The Israeli Defence Forces fired shots in the direction of diplomats including two Irish diplomats. This is unacceptable. We need to see a full investigation in relation to this and that those responsible for the shots are held accountable.
