When I was 13, I came out as gay and a furry to my whole class at a heavily conservative religious school in Chile. That moment led to non stop bullying from classmates, teachers, and even the school counselor, who leaked private information to fuel the abuse. Every day I cried and felt hopeless. When your family, friends, and the whole world turns on you except for fluffy people on the internet you start to lose faith. I wish I could tell that kid in Chile how far we’ve come. That he thrives. That he’s living his best furry life. That he led the Furry Pride parade in New York City. The truth is, I’m genuinely proud of how far I’ve come and incredibly thankful to the furry community for saving my life and giving me a space where I can truly be myself. I’m proud to be gay and to be a furry. I feel unstoppable, and I can’t thank every single one of you enough for giving me this gift. 🧡🦊 Special thanks to @nycfurwalk for the incredible opportunity to lead the group.
