Things just got WILD in DeKalb. Bowling Green head coach Fred Chmiel just got T’ed up after a heated exchange with the officials. Assistant coaches had to escort him off the court. After four FTs, NIU has put this game away. The Huskies will down the Falcons 82-77 in double OT.

Rocky Lombardi shows off his jets with a 49-yard run on third down for what would’ve been his first UFL touchdown. However, after review, it’s called back by an offsetting offensive penalty.

As promised, here’s the full video of Thomas Hammock’s impassioned remarks on the state of the transfer portal. Hammock briefly highlighted his own experience as college athlete, saying he considers the lessons he learned in college more valuable than any financial incentive. “I would do it again for free — *for free.* Because of the things I learned. That’s why I’m standing here today: because of what I learned in college. Not because of how much somebody gave me.” 🎥: NIU Athletics

One of NIU’s biggest selling points this offseason was its new offense, led by a new OC with a new QB under center. Now, after a 6-3 loss at home, the Huskies are arguably the worst scoring offense in the country. So, I asked Hammock what’s gone wrong. 🎥: NIU Athletics

It’s no secret that NIU’s 2025 season has been… subpar. Once seen as a MAC contender, the Huskies have since fallen to 3-8 and 2-5 in league play. So, I had to ask Thomas Hammock the question: “How confident do you feel about your future as head coach?” 🎥: NIU Athletics

During NIU’s weekly presser earlier this afternoon, I asked @NIUCoachHammock about his experience watching his 30 seniors develop throughout their careers. In return, he gave me the most powerful response I’ve ever heard from a coach in my career. This year’s senior class is a special one to him. You can hear it in his voice. You can see it in the tears in his eyes. 🎥: NIU Athletics

After chasing him down to the NIU Baseball game, I caught up with second-year QB Brady Davidson. As he vies for the starting role this spring, Davidson’s approach is simple. “One play at a time. Take everything like I’m a starter and see what happens.”

For NIU linebacker Quinn Urwiler, Senior Day is going to hit hard. It’ll mark the end of a six-year career that took him from North Dakota to NIU — and eventually into his first season as a starter. And even if he could, he wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🎥: NIU Athletics

I had a chance to finally meet NIU OC/QBs coach Quinn Sanders after today’s practice. A self-described fun, energetic coach, Sanders has been impressed with his four QBs so far. “They’re ahead of where I thought they’d be at this point.” Watch the full interview ⤵️
