Rained heavily as we returned to Nuwakot early this morning. Trishuli, Dunghe all flattened out by the angry flashfloods. Extremely difficult to walk even a few metres in all the wet mud, sludge and debris. Heard horrific eye witness accounts . On Thursday I met Aftab outside the Nuwakot Army helipad. 55 children were stranded in the Trishuli area as a madrasah was swept off in the flashfloods. Today we chanced upon him again. This time broke down as he said his own children who are stranded with the group are now hoping their father can hire a private helicopter to bring them home. A wish he cannot fulfill. Journalists- women and men- walking into the #Afghanistan embassy in Delhi for another press conference by Taliban Min Muttaqi following the last presser row. The original Afghan flag still flutters at the embassy with the Taliban and their black and white flag yet to be recognised.
