A simple solution to keep our streets clean ♻️ Instead of bottles and cans ending up in the wrong place, you now can leave them on these new bin surrounds, making it easy anyone to pick them up, recycle, and get the deposit back. I’ve seen these bin surrounds working well across Europe so pitched the idea to Dublin City Council and worked closely with the North Inner City task force and council officials to make it happen. Let's get these in Dún Laoghaire next!

I’m running for the TCD Seanad Election! I graduated from Trinity with a degree in Computer Science in 1993. My experience at #TCD has shaped who I am and encouraged me to dedicate a lot of my life to solving environmental problems - that’s why I got elected as a councillor, a TD and Minister of State. Dún Laoghaire, it has been an honour to serve as your public representative over the last 10 years. I didn’t manage to get re-elected this weekend but I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who voted for me and to all the community groups and people I have worked closely with. You are still represented by our fantastic councillors Conor Dowling, Cllr Tom Kivlehan and Cllr Lauren Tuite. We have already covered part of the DART line - why don’t we keep going? This area on the Queen’s Road was once a trench, with trains passing by every 10 minutes. Now it’s a communal space with cafés, a play park, trees and benches. We know it can be done so why not expand it from Blackrock to Glasthule to Dalkey?

Every other party loves to talk about climate action & stick a few wind turbines on their manifestos. But when it comes down to it, the environment & public transport will not be given priority in the next government if we aren’t in there. The others will always find reasons not to act.
