At Caulfield this morning Melbourne Racing Club track manager Sam Bennetts shows the process of the use of “plugs” as normal practice in track repairs - confirms outside 2m will be aerated for Sunday’s meeting where rail out 13m (remembering Caulfield also a public access course during the week) Says plugs are safe and only moved when tampered with by some jockeys Sat.

This is no April Fools joke. The leader on the turn is “Bailout Billy” it’s jockey with a sore neck is Eliseo Ruiz (who let’s just say had no intention of breaking the whip rule). The winner was 7/2 into 9/5 as they jumped. Parx Racing

Certainly going to miss TB on Tuesdays on Racing.com - most engaging of the raceday shows - but got to disagree here - if industry station can’t be bothered or “afford” to send their own “talent” to the track, why should jockeys - who are not directly paid by punters of course - be bothered to talk to a studio when busy and cold - most always give and get “thanks for your time” - but is this the law of unintended consequences from $ cuts?
