At Caulfield this morning Melbourne Racing Club track manager Sam Bennetts shows the process of the use of “plugs” as normal practice in track repairs - confirms outside 2m will be aerated for Sunday’s meeting where rail out 13m (remembering Caulfield also a public access course during the week) Says plugs are safe and only moved when tampered with by some jockeys Sat.

Certainly going to miss TB on Tuesdays on Racing.com - most engaging of the raceday shows - but got to disagree here - if industry station can’t be bothered or “afford” to send their own “talent” to the track, why should jockeys - who are not directly paid by punters of course - be bothered to talk to a studio when busy and cold - most always give and get “thanks for your time” - but is this the law of unintended consequences from $ cuts?
