The Indian Air Force continues to face serious challenges in logistics and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of its fleet. Aging aircraft, delays in spare parts, and limited indigenous MRO capacity have led to reduced aircraft availability and operational readiness, while bureaucratic delays slow maintenance cycles. Alarmingly, the IAF appears to be repeating the same pattern with new inductions as it did over the last 4–5 decades. Without major reforms in logistics and MRO processes, future operational readiness and combat effectiveness are likely to remain compromised.
