Alright guys here we go… I never wanted to make this public, but after attempting to resolve this privately, I feel the need to share my experience. I hit a ~$15–20K Pirate Crew Luffy card in a rip & ship break. I paid nearly $200 for overnight shipping + insurance. What happened next is incredibly disappointing….🧵 The card was shipped with bulk cards pressed against it in a bubble mailer rather than being individually secured in a box. It arrived with a significant crease/damage that materially impacted its value. Fortunately, I was able to document the card and packaging with photos/video. The seller has acknowledged that the damage occurred in transit and directed me toward an insurance claim. However, they have also maintained that their website policy makes them not responsible for cards damaged in transit. My issue isn't that something went wrong during shipping. I understand that shipping carries inherent risk. That's precisely why I paid nearly $200 for expedited shipping/handling and insurance. My issue is the level of protection used for a card worth five figures. I was incredibly excited to receive this card and decide whether to keep it, sell it, or potentially grade it. That decision was taken away from me because the card arrived damaged. What's been most frustrating is not just the financial loss, but the difficulty I've had getting the seller to meaningfully acknowledge the circumstances and work toward a more immediate resolution. I want to be very clear: this is not about attacking anyone personally. I have genuine appreciation for the fact that they pulled the card for me, and I would have preferred to resolve everything privately. But I also believe buyers deserve to know how situations like this are handled when something goes wrong. I have the original photos/video, the packaging documentation, and the complete message history. I'm sharing this so people can see the facts and make their own judgment. I still hope this can ultimately be resolved fairly. I don't want a public fight—I want accountability and a reasonable resolution. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
