Black Mirror: It's Closer Than You Think One of the most memorable scenes in Black Mirror's “Nosedive” is that Lacie's digital social ranking isn't simply a reflection of how other people see her. It determines what she can access. When her score drops, she finds that it can affect everything from the car she can rent to whether she can get on a flight. The episode raises a very real question about what happens when digital systems become the gateway to everyday life. The more aspects of our lives depend on a single digital infrastructure, the more important it becomes to have alternatives when that system isn't available — or when we don't want to participate in it. That is part of the reason cash matters. Digital payments are convenient, but they shouldn't have to be the only way we can transact. Cash gives people another option that doesn't depend on a digital account, a payment network or a particular technology. We don't need to reject digital payments to recognise the value of keeping cash. The important thing is making sure that convenience doesn't eventually become the removal of choice. Cash is one of the few alternatives we still have, and keeping it available means keeping that choice available. Cash Freedom 2026: Subscribe to

I Like Living among People—Plumbers, Truckers, Farmers—Who Deal with the Real Economy and Real Assets There is something valuable about being close to people who work in the real economy. Plumbers, truckers, farmers, builders and countless other people do work that produces something tangible and keeps communities functioning every day. In this extract from our interview with Craig Tindale, the importance of being around those people is contrasted with the increasingly financialised and technology-driven parts of the economy. It is a useful reminder that beneath all of the markets, financial products and digital systems, there is still a real economy made up of people providing goods and services to one another. Cash has a natural place in that economy because it allows money to move directly between people and businesses in their everyday lives. When you pay a local farmer, shopkeeper, tradesperson or independent business with cash, you are participating in that real economy without every transaction needing to pass through a digital payment system. This means remembering that the financial system ultimately exists to support the people, businesses and communities that make up the economy itself. Just Because Something Is Logical Does Not Mean It Is True "Solari Builders: Understanding Money and the Economy with Prof. Richard A. Werner" Richard Werner solaribuilders By Ricardo Oskam At the recent gathering in Northern Italy that concluded the Solari Builders pilot course, Professor Richard A. Werner addressed two fundamental questions: What is money? And what problem does money’s existence solve? Werner, a recurrent guest at Solari, is a German economist who, after training at the London School of Economics and Oxford, spent his formative years in Japan—as the first Shimomura Fellow at the Development Bank of Japan and then as chief economist at the Jardine Fleming investment bank in Tokyo. In the mid-1990s, he coined the term “quantitative easing,” proposing to the Bank of Japan something rather different from what central banks later carried out borrowing the same terminology. Werner’s 2003 book, Princes of the Yen, which described how Japan’s central bankers inflated and then burst a bubble to force through reform, outsold Harry Potter in Japan for six straight weeks. Before diving into contemporary monetary theory, Werner took the Solari Builders group through one thousand years of history. With the Builders having visited a famous Italian Duomo the day before his presentation—a cathedral that was six centuries in the making—he tackled the question of how some of Europe’s most impressive cathedrals were built. Laborers contributed to structures they knew they would never see completed in their lifetimes, making the cathedrals a true testimonial to a higher culture where one honored God with every brick laid. Today, Werner notes, we would not be able to replicate those buildings at any sane cost, despite having better technology. Since 1992, Prof. Werner has argued that banks do not pass along existing savings but create money out of thin air—the Credit Creation Theory. Werner used empirical evidence that he painstakingly gathered (rather than rely on axioms or theoretical deductions) to prove his claim to be true and disprove other theories such as the intermediation theory of banking (which claims that banks are just financial intermediaries, both individually and collectively) or the fractional reserve theory of banking (which claims that banks are individually financial intermediaries but collectively create money through fractional reserve banking). The common thread uniting the historical examples Werner references is the creation of money as an animating force. The stone wheel money of Yap and the split tally stick made of cheap hazelwood (the grain of its split being a unique fingerprint to identify its validity) became money because people accepted them as money. His point, arriving through the back door of history, is that our own money is the same instrument, with the promise thinned out—a claim with no commodity behind it. The tally stick was also the original accounting method: charge on one side, discharge on the other, cash recorded as it moves, checked afterwards against the counter-rolls kept in the Treasury, making it hard to lie. Double-entry accounting came later, and in Werner’s reading of it, represented not an advance in transparency but a smokescreen. Interest was illegal in Christian Europe, and the goldsmith-bankers had more than interest to hide: they were lending out gold left in their care and writing deposit certificates for gold nobody had deposited. To truly understand the economy, we must understand what money is and how its successful use is intertwined with our governance system and a healthy culture that supports a fundamental level of trust. Will the rapid influx of newly created money in our economy facilitate borrowing for productive purposes—leading to growth without inflation—or will it further raise consumer prices and spawn asset bubbles? Each Person Who Backs Out of the Control Grid and Becomes More Free Makes It Easier for the Rest of Us Our priority at Solari is your freedom and the protection of your individual sovereignty and human rights. This means that you must enjoy financial freedom—the ability to use your resources and transact without invasive control by digital ID systems, programmable digital money, and illegal use of enforcement and coercion. Many of us have become informed about the dangers of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) because the central bankers have explicitly told us that they can create the rules for how, when, and where we can use our money, also reminding us that they have the technology to enforce those rules centrally. However, these same control mechanisms can also be applied to private cryptocurrencies, such as stablecoins and asset tokens. Some states have passed laws outlawing CBDCs. Now we need to make sure that no form or system of programmable money can threaten our financial freedom. In addition to having developed model legislation to protect cash as a critical analog option, Solari has prepared model legislation to help states protect themselves against being coerced or forced into using digital money. Please send this bill to your state senators and representatives and ask them to sponsor and pass legislation in your state, so that you and your fellow citizens do not lose your rights to transact freely and do not become subject to taxation without representation. Political Theater Makes Leaders Look Incompetent, but the People behind It Are Smart—They Know What They’re Doing "1st Quarter 2026 Wrap Up: News Trends & Stories, Part I with Dr. Joseph P. Farrell" Every quarter, I look forward to my News Trends & Stories discussions with Dr. Joseph Farrell as an opportunity to compare notes and refine our map of current events. With so many fast-moving developments currently rocking the world, both domestically and in the Middle East, this week’s Part I interview for the 1st Quarter 2026 Wrap Up was particularly welcome. One thing that Joseph and I emphasize in our discussion is that states’ efforts to put up programmable money guardrails and Iran’s efforts to not be subsumed in a monolithic globalist “architecture” are just two faces of the same battle the fight to protect financial transaction freedom and thwart a global control grid. Unfortunately, it looks like the parties who want control—and who are infuriated by Iran’s independence—are doing everything they can to prevent a ceasefire and continue wreaking global economic havoc. Here are the top stories for the 1st Quarter—we discuss Stories #1-6 in Part I, and will address Story #7 along with Unanswered Questions and Inspiration in Part II next week: I. Attack on Iran: The Rothschild Network (Central Bankers) Takes Their Best Shot II. Epstein: Are We Ready to Deal with the Secret Governance System? III. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi Embraces the Red Button: Justice Be Damned If the Dow Is Over 50,000 IV. The Going Direct Reset: The Programmable Money Wars Are On V. The Control Grid: The Hardware, Software, and Neurowarfare in Your Face VI. G7 to C4/5: Dealmaking and Swapping a Multipolar Face in a Unipolar World VII. Pushback Gets Fashionable As a reminder, you will get the most out of our discussion if you follow along at the 1st Quarter 2026 Wrap Up web presentation, where you will find related videos and other resources, including related stories from Joseph’s Giza Death Star website. The Technocratic Dark State: Trump, AI, and Digital Dictatorship with Iain Davis (Full Interview) InThisTogether By John Titus In early November, Solari published my review of Iain Davis’s book, The Technocratic Dark State: Trump, AI, and Digital Dictatorship—a book I consider an absolute must-read. Davis is an independent investigative UK journalist and author who publishes at his own website as well as at other New Media outlets such as Unlimited Hangout. The Technocratic Dark State is his fourth book. As I wrote in my review, The Technocratic Dark State “provided so many penny-drop moments that I lost count of them.” For that reason, I was eager to do an interview with him to dive into some of his most critical insights. Our discussion starts with how money creation relates to the “tech bros,” with Davis’s compelling argument being that the partnership between old-line money creators and Big Tech facilitates two important goals: the continuation of U.S. dollar hegemony and central control of the population. We also explore the concept of “interoperability,” a term I once wrongly dismissed as an empty buzzword. From there, we take a look at the so-called Dark Enlightenment, consider the tech bros’ use of deception, and discuss features of the digital gulag, including digital IDs, as well as Davis’s ideas about how to resist. On the topic of resistance, Davis fittingly ends his book with a useful reminder from 16th-century French philosopher and magistrate Étienne de La Boétie: “Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces.” Full Report: Subscribe to

Private Equity: See the Game, Change the Game - Full Interview Join us on Telegram: "Private Equity: See the Game, Change the Game with Tiffany Cianci" In November 2024, entrepreneur and former franchisee Tiffany Cianci (Tiffany Cianci) was a Solari Hero of the Week for her valiant pushback against private equity lawfare that has cost her and her family dearly. Since a private equity firm terminated her children’s gym franchise in 2022, Cianci has become a public speaker and small business advocate helping policymakers and citizens understand private equity’s “systematic strip-mining of the American middle class.” In Solari’s first interview of 2026, Cianci joins me to draw back the curtain on the wider private equity “game,” with the aim of improving our subscribers’ ability to navigate products, services, and business and investment relationships in an increasingly fraught-with-risk environment. We start by discussing the growth of private equity (including the public policies that have encouraged its explosion), the largest players, the role of endowments like Harvard and Yale, private equity’s extraction business model and tactics, and shenanigans related to how private equity returns are calculated and reported. We also take a look at the wide range of sectors affected by private equity’s incursions—including health care, nursing homes, autism services, veterinary services, insurance, sports, retail, and media—and bring the situation up to date with a look at actions taken by the Trump administration, such as giving the private equity industry access to our 401(k) retirement funds. The private equity invasion may be widespread, but, as Cianci and I conclude, there is still much we can do—as employees, parents, alumni, investors, pension fund beneficiaries, and voters—to demand accountability and push back against destructive and even criminal business models. Step one is to protect your time, health, finances, and savings from businesses that extract from you and yours rather than add the value that supports a free and inspired life. As a reminder, be sure (if you have not already done so) to read our Plunder report, which provides additional details that will help you recognize and navigate the havoc created when too many investment interests use our pension funds and taxpayer resources to build billionaires instead of building wealth. Catherine Austin Fitts Warns of an All-Seeing Digital Control Grid with Freedom Research (Full Interview) "In a new interview to Freedom Research, Catherine Austin Fitts poses the question of how would have Covid lockdowns been enforced if programmable money (CBDCs) had already been rolled out at the time. To put it simply, this is the kind of “money” that has levers for control on where and how it is spent. “If I put you in a 15-minute city and I don’t want you to leave this 15-minute city, the rules won’t work outside your 15-minute city,” she says – but if money itself gets custom designed, so to speak, the situation will be different. “You can then embed highly complex rule systems to manage each individual as well as to manage groups of individuals,” Fitts explains. Now, if you look at all the elements of the system Fitts calls the digital control grid – facial recognition cameras, QR code checkpoints, smartphones, etc., and you have AI data centers to analyse them all – then once you fuse it all together, it’s a digital concentration camp." We Have Had a Negative-Return-on-Investment Economy for 30 Years "Lunacy Threatens 401(k) and Index Fund Regulation with Tiffany Cianci" Tiffany Cianci The digital control grid has an unending appetite for your capital. Building the systems that enable surveillance, biometric digital IDs, and programmable money—and the data centers and AI that hold and process the data needed to make these systems go—takes trillions of dollars. Every time we turn around, there is another attempt to siphon off our savings, not only to finance the control grid’s build-out but to help buy up and consolidate ownership and control of our businesses. In short, Mr. Global is pursuing his goals with our money—our tax dollars, our federal credit, and our retirement savings. Returning guest Tiffany Cianci (Tiffany Cianci) has a passion for tracking the manipulation of our savings. She has been a leader in warning the public about the shenanigans of the private equity industry, as described in our prior interviews about private equity and private credit. Now she is sounding the alarm about the efforts—well underway—to compromise the governance of our 401(k)s in a manner that could lead to inappropriate access by alternative investments, including crypto, private equity, and hedge funds. If you or your loved ones have retirement savings, you will not want to miss this conversation, as Tiffany and I discuss what is happening with 401(k)s and consider some of the other meltdowns in our financial regulation and standards.
