After 18 days of historic fires, rain has finally come to Los Angeles. Despite having an annual budget of $44 billion, LA County storm drains empty directly onto our beaches and into the Pacific Ocean. We already have high levels of bacteria (feces) in our ocean water year round. The recent rains will add highly toxic ash and chemicals. This is a major environmental and public health hazard, but LA County Public Health does very little to warn the public.
