I’m trying to get this intersection fixed on Market in the Castro in front of Bar 49. I shot this video yesterday while walking to dinner. Anytime of day you can see cars aggressively almost hitting people in the crosswalk. This is because this intersection is so wide that, for one of the right turns on green, you can’t see the pedestrian crosswalk signal at all and you have time to speed up heading towards this crosswalk. Many of these drivers assume you are jaywalking even though you have 20 seconds left to walk. This leads to some frequent aggressive behavior and near misses with pedestrians. The drivers assume this configuration wouldn’t have the crosswalk active at that time - and I agree that it shouldn’t be.
