Just to note, after the Ethiopia–Eritrea reconciliation in 2018, Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh did visit Hargeisa in March 2019. During that visit, he referred to Somaliland as a "country" It's simply a matter of the historical record. June 26th 1960

We remind the world that Somaliland meets all the criteria of the Montevideo Convention: a permanent population, defined territory, government, and capacity to enter into relations with other states. We endured a genocide, we respect international law, and we declared independence on June 26, 1960.

During WW2, the Japanese were brutal&killed 30 million,mostly civilians. Somalilanders from the Somaliland Camel Corps, who were solely in the 71st battalion refused to take orders&killed the most Japs then any other Battalion! #Somaliland was never ever colonized!
