🚨🚨UAE in Somalia Series 🚨🚨 Agricultural land that once supported Somali government rice farms is now leased to the #UAE under a 60-year agreement signed with the Jubbaland administration in early 2023. The UAE is cultivating bananas on 5,000 hectares in #Yoontoy, 25 km from #Kismayo, for export to the UAE and global markets. Around 100s Somali farmers whose fields were destroyed by floods have been employed there, earning about $260 per month.

A highly Turkish/Qatari-trained Somali Air Force (SAF) officers, along with 3 F-16 aircraft and 2 other military aircrafts, have arrived in Mogadishu in recent days. Türkiye, Qatar, and Azerbaijan have also delivered advanced military hardware and defense systems to the Somali capital.
