India is going to become a global hub for Climate Adaptation. What China did for renewables is what India can do for engineered Carbon Removal. By bringing together agriculture and deep tech. We are an agrarian country. We produce around 750 million tonnes of agricultural waste every year. Most of it gets burned, and that smoke is one of the biggest reasons the air turns toxic every winter. (Just wait for the monsoons to pass and Delhi will remind you of this in just two months) Biochar brings together chemistry, economics, and agricultural innovation. It can become a significant adaptation technique to this crisis. But what is biochar, really? And why does an agrarian India need it more than anyone? We removed 2,500 tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere, soon to be permanently locked in the Bay of Bengal. That's equal to 3,500 one way tickets from Delhi to Tokyo. This is the largest Enhanced Rock Weathering delivery issued by Isometric. Thank you to our Japanese partners Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL Group), for supporting the ambitious Darjeeling Revival Project. We got a chance to showcase Alter Magazine in our favourite journal of ideas Works in Progress. In 1924, a self-taught physicist from Calcutta, teaching at a newly established university in Dhaka, solved a problem that had stumped European physics. He mailed it to Einstein, and changed how we understand matter. His name was Satyendra Nath Bose. Bose never won a Nobel Prize. But his contribution, Bosons, advanced human progress. Bosons change the world by gathering. So do Ideas.
