'Black History Month is tokenistic nonsense.' Headteacher Katherine Birbalsingh argues that instead of schools focussing on Black History Month once a year, they should instead teach British history that isn't seen through an 'oppressor and oppressed' lens. A day after the arrival of the 230-seater mega-dinghy, Nick Robinson put it to Rayner that members of the public feel 'rage' at the government's inability to protect Britain's borders. Asked for her reflections, she responded: 'Well, these are desperate, vulnerable people getting into these vessels that are dangerous and we've got to stop that. The Home Secretary has got this agreement which is pay by results with the French to stop these boats from coming over.' Rayner went on to insist that the number of boats invading Kent's shores has fallen while deportations are up. But she just couldn't help herself, adding the ridiculous suggestion that women and children make up a significant proportion of illegal arrivals. She said: ✍️ Steerpike Article | | Steerpike

The American right has developed a morbid fascination with Britain over the past two years, particularly after Elon Musk began tweeting about grooming gangs. Some European influencers have found it lucrative to present Britain and parts of the continent as having ‘fallen’, posting videos of crimes by immigrants and appearing on American podcast networks as weary ambassadors from broken countries to warn: ‘It could happen here.’ The Joe Rogan Experience podcast released a two-hour interview with Rupert Lowe, leader of the Restore party. Was Lowe there merely to create content – or is Restore a serious political party? Some of his statements suggest it’s the former rather than the latter. Article | | Rupert Lowe MP | Joe Rogan

'We look at people in their 20s and say, what on earth is going on? I know what's going on because I know what they were taught in school.' Headteacher Katharine Birbalsingh explains how children need more than just rules and being told what to do - they can also benefit from growing up in a culture of shared boundaries. The 28-year-old gave up reading International Law and Legal Studies as a PhD student at King's College London to run for parliament. Her full name is actually Pyla Lara Bird-Leakey and she is, of course, obsessed with Palestine. Unearthed videos of the qualified English barrister on social media appear to show that she has significantly dialled up her Scottish accent since becoming an MP, having previously spoken in a rather posh English tone. ✍️ Steerpike Article |

'The problem now is that we see everything through the lens of race' Headteacher Katharine Birbalsingh argues that the old school curriculum that 'whitewashed' history has simply been replaced with a narrative that focusses on 'oppressor v oppressed'. Allahu Akbar, one and all. It’s been a big night for Green and independent candidates standing in the Gaza – sorry, British – local elections. While Reform has much to celebrate in gaining ground across the country, so too, it seems, do the people of Palestine, who now find themselves represented in town hall decision-making about bin collections and potholes nationwide. As if they hadn’t suffered enough, eh? Successful pro-Palestine candidates have wasted no time taking to social media to express their pride at winning swathes of British voters. ✍️ Steerpike Article |

Reform's home affairs spokesman has demanded that the telecoms giant immediately stop supplying SIMs to Care4Calais, one of the worst-offending NGOs when it comes to aiding Channel crossers. Vodafone has issued a gobsmacking 2,221 cards to the so-called ‘human rights’ organisation, which has sparked fury for seemingly helping to facilitate illegal entry into Britain. In a letter to the company’s board of directors, Yusuf said: ‘Vodafone’s customers will no doubt be astounded to hear that a British company of generally good repute is helping to facilitate the invasion of Britain by unvetted, military-age men. They will be shocked to hear that their phone or broadband provider is actively endangering British women and girls.’ ✍️ Steerpike Article |

If you heard that a man was thinking about selling his seven-year-old daughter into marriage or domestic servitude, who would you feel sorry for? The dad or the girl? The man treating his own child as property to be traded for cash, or his daughter, the innocent made into chattel for gross creeps to barter over so that they might secure themselves a child bride? All normal people would say the daughter. Of course we would. Not the BBC, though. Our public broadcaster has told precisely this horror story, only it paints the men selling their daughters as the victims, not the girls who are being sold. Meet the 'Afghan fathers' who are 'forced to make impossible choices', it blubs, blissfully unaware of how sick it sounds to the rest of us to play a tiny violin for men who sell girls into slavery. ✍️ Brendan O’Neill Article |
