It was an honor to deliver my annual State of the State speech this week. I hope you will take a few minutes to watch. It’s about how profoundly weird Utah is and how we can keep it that way. “My friends, the State of the State is as strong as it’s ever been. And I’m convinced with every passing day that the source of our state’s strength is what for the longest time people told us was our weakness. We’re different. We’re weird. The good kind of weird. The kind of weird the rest of the nation is desperate for right now. And I’m praying we can keep it that way.”

My closing message to my fellow governors. In light of the assassination attempt on Pres. Trump, I think it’s more important today than it was two days ago. It’s about building and optimism and hope. It’s about loving our country and doing the hard work of bridge building. I make mistakes all the time, but I’m trying to be better. I hope you will listen.
