They broke our homes, looted our wealth and shattered our dreams. But they couldn’t break our courage, our patriotism or our bond with our motherland. My Maa and Masi returned to a temple in Kashmir they had visited as five-year-olds, nearly six decades ago. Years of displacement and trauma had kept them from venturing far beyond Srinagar on previous visits. This time felt different. Perhaps they could feel their father, my Nanaji, who once lived nearby. Watching them relive their childhood through stories was priceless. You can exile a people from their homeland, but you can never erase their memories or their sense of belonging. Kashmir will always be home ❤️🩹🙏

What is surprising is the repeated demand to “CO se baat karao” and “Commander se baat karao,” by the police inspector as if the soldiers were acting on their own. Soldiers deployed on the ground function under the orders of their commanding officers. Whether they had established a checkpoint or were regulating traffic, they were there because their chain of command had assigned them that duty not because they decided it themselves. In such situations, Army commanders should not be expected to entertain public intimidation of their men. If an officer is found to have wrongfully threatened or harassed soldiers performing official duties, the Army should also consider appropriate legal remedies instead of always being on the receiving end of FIR threats. It has increasingly become a weapon to casually threaten Army personnel with an FIR. But where is the accountability when a police officer behaves unprofessionally with serving soldiers? Who is held responsible for undermining the dignity of another uniform? There is a basic code of respect that every uniformed service owes the other. #fyp #explore #indianarmy

Captain Vijayant Thapar was just 22 when he fought in Kargil. He led his men to victory, but was killed in action on 28–29 June 1999. Before his final assault, he wrote a letter to his parents, asking them to read it only if he didn’t return. He didn’t. The letter did. A young soldier who was hungry, tired, and still thinking of home knowing he might never see it again. His last words: “Live life King Size.” Jai Hind. 🇮🇳

pity the women who end up with men who think like this. When some young girls kissed RaGa on the cheeks and he later rested his arms on their shoulders while posing for a picture - was that also RaGa “trying to misuse the moment”? If you can see something wrong in one situation, don’t suddenly develop cataracts when it’s someone you support. And please, don’t simply open your mouth to reveal the kind of garbage your mind is capable of producing.
