On the night of 8–9 May 2025, Pakistan carried out large-scale violations of Indian airspace, attempting to target military infrastructure with 300–400 drones across 36 locations from Leh to Sir Creek. Indian forces neutralized many using kinetic and non-kinetic means. An armed #UAV strike on Bhatinda was also thwarted. India responded by launching drone strikes on four Pakistani air defence sites, destroying a #radar. Pakistan escalated with artillery and drone attacks across the #LoC, causing casualties. Alarmingly, Pakistan kept its civil #airspace open during the assault, endangering civilian flights. Foreign Secretary ShriVikram Misri has confirmed the implementation of a ceasefire under #OperationSindoor. At 15:35 hrs today, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan contacted his Indian counterpart, and both sides agreed to halt all military action—on land, in the air, and at sea—with effect from 17:00 hrs IST. Orders have been issued on both sides to strictly enforce this agreement. The Foreign Secretary stated that this marks a significant step towards de-escalation and peace. The two DGMOs will reconvene for further talks on May 12 at 12:00 hrs IST. In a grave escalation, Pakistan launched multi-vector attacks along the western border using drones, UCAVs, artillery & missiles—targeting over 26 locations from Srinagar to Nalia. Indian Air Force bases at Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur & Bhuj sustained limited damage. In a cowardly act, Pakistan also struck civilian infrastructure including Medicare centres & schools. India responded with swift precision strikes on identified military targets at Rafiqi, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan & more, ensuring minimal collateral damage. The Indian Army effectively countered #LoC intrusions, causing extensive damage to Pakistan’s forces. Troop movements on the Pakistani side signal intent to escalate. In solidarity with Nepal during this time of crisis, the Indian Air Force continues to be on vigil and ready to extend humanitarian assistance. Within few hours of the disaster, an IAF C-130J aircraft delivered 10 tonnes of essential medicines to support relief efforts. The following day, an IAF C-17 aircraft transported another 37.5 tonnes of relief supplies, including medicines and food items. The SpokespersonNavy commissioned INS Nipun at the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai, in the presence of Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Krishna Swaminathan. Speaking on the occasion, the Navy Chief described INS Nipun as a powerful addition to the Navy’s capabilities for multi-domain deep-water operations. Lauding its over 75% indigenous content, Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, FOC-in-C, Western Naval Command, described the vessel as a testimony to India’s growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
